GENEVO LP Specifications (US)

Laser protection system for the US and Canadian market: $1,199 MSRP for the LP3 kit

The GENEVO LP is a laser protection system (laser jammer) designed for the US and Canadian market. The GENEVO LP3 kit has an MSRP of $1,199 and includes a control unit and 3 laser sensors with extension cables. The system supports up to 6 sensors. It works on its own with the GENEVO LP control panel or with a GENEVO PRO II or PRO II DUO radar detector. The LP3 MSRP is the same for both installations. GENEVO developed its firmware for the DragonEye lidar guns used by US police. Authorized GENEVO dealers install the system. Laser jammers are illegal in a number of US states and in parts of Canada. Check the law where you drive before you buy.

Laser jammers are illegal in at least California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Washington, D.C., and the list may not be complete. In Canada, Ontario's Highway Traffic Act bans devices that interfere with police speed measurement, and other provinces have their own rules. Check the current law in every state or province where you drive before you install a GENEVO LP; a laser jammer does not make speeding legal.

How does the standalone GENEVO LP work?

The GENEVO LP3 works without a radar detector. It uses the GENEVO LP control panel, a cable harness with a capacitive button, buzzer and LED. The button controls power, volume and alerts. Settings are saved on a PC in a configuration file on the GENEVO LP USB flash drive.

Turn onTurns on automatically when power is supplied. A chime sounds and the LED flashes twice.
Turn off and restartHold the button for 3 seconds to turn the LP off. A short press turns it back on.
VolumePress the button while the system is idle to cycle through Low, Medium and High.
During a laser alertA short press stops protection while laser detection continues. A second press stops detection too.
CooldownA 30-second cooldown starts after detection ends. The “Starting Sequence” then confirms that protection is active again.
PC settingsVolume: 1–3. LED brightness: 1–5. LED after startup: stays on or turns off. Protection time: 1–9 seconds or Unlimited. Save the configuration file on the LP USB flash drive, then insert the drive into the control unit to apply the settings.

How does the GENEVO LP work with the PRO II?

The GENEVO LP connects to the control unit of the GENEVO PRO II or PRO II DUO, and its alerts appear on the PRO II's color OLED control panel. The PRO II already detects police laser (904 nm) passively with an IR sensor in its HDM+ antenna; the LP adds active protection with up to 6 sensors. All LP settings are made in the PRO II menu.

PRO II settingOptionsWhat it does
Laser detectionOn or OffTurns laser alerts on and opens the laser accessory settings
Laser protectionLP or OffSelects the GENEVO LP as the connected laser system
ProtectionOff, Detect only, 0–9 seconds or UnlimitedHow long the LP protects after a laser alert; Detect only warns without protection
Laser nameOff, No voice or VoiceShows the name of the laser gun detected by the LP on the PRO II display. With Voice selected, the PRO II also announces the name, such as “DragonEye”.

How is the GENEVO LP installed?

Only installation centers trained by GENEVO install the GENEVO LP, so you buy it through an authorized GENEVO dealer. The laser sensors go into the front grille, above the bumper or at the rear of the car, in a horizontal position with a clear view forward or backward; the control unit sits inside the cabin, away from water.

Laser sensorsWaterproof design, 2 bracket types for tight spaces; front grille, above the bumper or at the rear
Control unitInside the cabin, under the dashboard or near the PRO II control unit; must stay dry. For standalone installations, the GENEVO LP control panel connects to this unit.
